Setting July 7th as “Sliced Bread Day in Missouri” will be introduced on the House Floor this morning. The Missouri House is expected to debate legislation today. State Representative Rusty Black sponsored the bill, which encourages Missourians to commemorate the first sale of sliced bread, which happened in 1928 in Chillicothe. Those supporting the bill say it celebrates Missouri’s history and promotes our community. The House approved the bill last year, but the bill died in the Senate and never made it to the governor’s desk.
