Banquet Honors Chillicothe Wrestlers

A season of winning and new beginnings were honored at the Chillicothe High School Wrestling Banquet.
The Chillicothe Hornets season finished at 22-5 in dual meets, Second in the MEC tournament, tied for third in the District tournament and 21st in the State Tournament with ten qualifiers and one medalist. Colten Sewell won his second medal in three seasons, placing third in his weight class.
Sewell led the team with 42 wins. Five other wrestlers eclipsed the 30 wins mark. The program will say goodbye to five seniors.
Coach Chad Smith said the Seniors brought a lot to the program.

Smith called them hard workers and fun to coach.
In the season statistics department, Sewell led the team in team points, match points, technical falls and take downs.
Lavery Jones led the min Reversals and Major Decisions.
Keegan Valdez set the school record for fastest Heavyweight Pin in seven seconds.
Sheldon Rader led the team in Near Falls.
In program top ten all time lists, Sewell is third in match points and take downs as a Junior.
New this year was a Chillicothe Girls Wrestling team with the sport debuting across Missouri High Schools.
Assistant Coach Joey Rinehart was the main coach for the Lady Hornets team, and he called it a learning experience for everyone.

The seven members on the girls team had three Sophomores and four Freshmen.
