Chillicothe Junior Pitcher Kam Ward threw a one hit, five inning shut out in a 10-0 win over Trenton. The game was halted in the bottom of the fifth inning due to the ten-runs mercy rule.
Chillicothe scored one in the first, two in the third, three in the fourth and four in the fifth inning.
Ward went the full five innings, allowing no runs off one hit with two walks and seven strike-outs.
At the plate, picking up hits for Chillicothe were Westley Brandsgaard and Brock Ward each with two runs, and Jaden Winder and Kam Ward each with one hit. Brandsgaard and Kam Ward both had a double.
Picking up RBI were Kam Ward with three, Brock Ward, Brandsgaard and Winder each with two and Mason Baxter with one.
The Junior Varsity Hornets scored one run off three hits to beat Trenton 1-0. Dawson Wheeler scored the lone run and had two of the three hits.
Landon Swift and Wheeler teamed up for the win on the mound in three innings.
