An increase on the Operating Levy for the Chillicothe R-II School District will be decided by voters in the April 2nd election. Residents of the Chillicothe R-II School District will cast their ballot on the issue that includes an 80 cent per $100 valuation increase. Superintendent Dr Roger Barnes explains the district has two types of levies.
Barnes says the District is asking for an increase for operation. He says a portion of the increase would replace 12 cents of the existing levy.
Barnes says at the current levy, the district has begin dipping into the reserves.
Tuesday afternoon, Dr Barnes will talk about some of the areas the Levy Increase will be used in the district.
