The Chillicothe Municipal Utilities budget for 2019/20 includes just over $15.5 million in revenues and just over $15.7 million in expenditure. CMU General Manager Jim Gillilan says that includes a 2.5% cost of living increase for employees.
Gillilan says there have several capital projects and expenditures included in the budget.
The underground projects are mainly in the neighborhoods that have the powerlines in the back yards where they are hard to access and maintain.
Gillilan says they have money in the budget for streetlights.
He says there are about 1200 street lights in Chillicothe. They have already replaced about 150 or so and the work in the budget will bring them to about 500 to 550 completed. He says they will budget $50,000 over the next couple years to complete the project.
Gillilan says they have also budgeted a half million dollars for demolition of the old power plant and they are beginning the bid process soon.
