The Chillicothe Lady Hornets Soccer team lost a close, hard played match 2-0 at Hannibal.
The match was a scoreless tie at halftime. Hannibal scored in the second half, then again late in the game when Chillicothe was trying to tie the game.
Coach Shannon Grable credited solid play by the Hornet defense and goalkeeper Kennedie Kieffer. Grable stated the five saves on the game doesn’t tell the whole story. He said many opportunities were thwarted by the instincts of the Senior keeper.
Chillicothe won the Junior Varsity match 3-1 with goals by Julia Stimpson, Makayla Vance and Ellie Barnett.
