The Chillicothe Hornets Baseball team went 1-1 on Saturday and finished the Marshall Tournament with a 1-2 record
Chillicothe lost to Marshall 3-1 in Saturday’s first game. Marshall scored in the second and third innings for the early lead. Chillicothe scored in the bottom of the third. Marshall scored an insurance run in the top of the seventh.
Jaden Winder went the distance on the mound, allowing three runs, only one earned, off four hits. He struck out seven and walked only two.
At the plate Chillicothe had a double from Mason Baxter and singles from Winder, Westley Brandsgaard, Kam Ward, Brock Ward and Bradley Riley.
In the second game on Saturday Chillicothe had a five run fourth inning to beat Clinton 8-5.
Chillicothe had a double and single from Jaden Winder, a double from Mason Baxter, singles from Kam Ward and Bradley Riley.
Westley Brandsgaard and Winder both had two RBI.
Chillicothe used four pitchers in the game: Kam Ward, Bradley Riley, Dawson Wheeler and Mason Baxter. The four combined to allow five runs, two earned, off four hits with eight strike outs but nine walks
