A report of burglary summoned Brookfield Police Sunday morning. The call came in about 9:15 for the incident at a business in the 500 block of South Main. The report stated the burglary happened in the overnight hours and someone had gotten into the building and taken about $3,080. Officers reviewed security footage and identified one suspect as 25-year-old Dakota Blackburn of Columbia.
Monday, a Linn County warrant was issued for Blackburn’s arrest. He is charged with alleged Burglary and Stealing, with bond set at $10,000.00 cash only. He was arrested later that day by the Boone County Sheriff’s Deputies and is awaiting extradition to Linn County.
A second person of interest is still being sought by authorities.
