Several KCHI area high school athletes are in Jefferson City competing in the Class 1 and 2 state track meet. Events began Friday and continue today. Here is a list of area athletes that competed yesterday that earned medals or placed high enough to qualify for their event final today:
Class 2 Area Schools
Carrollton: MacKenzie Brown won the triple jump with a lead of 36′ 7.5″
Brookfield: Katheryn Ewing was 2nd in the Javelin, Alexandra Sharp was 2nd in the 3200, missing first by just under a tenth of a second. Cooper Cisna was 8th in the long jump. the Boys 4×100 and 4×400 relay teams qualified for the finals today.
Marceline: Hayden Dorrell was 6th in Pole Vault, Renee Sinclair was 6th in triple jump, Abbey Kussman qualified for the 400 finals as did the 4×400 girls relay team and the 4×200 boys relay team.
Hamilton: Graycen Prothero was 7th in discus and Kristen Poole qualified for the 300 hurdles final
Polo: Cody Blackwell was 7th in Javelin
Class 1 Area Schools
Pattonsburg: Cameron Jones won the triple jump with a distance of 43′ 8.75″ and qualified for the 200 finals. Trevor Ireland qualified for the finals in both hurdle events.
Meadville: Dillon Seckington was 2nd in the 800 and 4th in the 1600. Connor Fletcher was 8th in the triple jump and Maggie McLain qualified for the 400 meter final.
Gallatin: Claire Hemry was 3rd in the 3200 and Graydee Rains 4th in Shot Put.
Linn County: Caleb Schreiner qualified for the finals in the 200, 400 and 110 hurdles.
Braymer: Keaton O’Dell was 3rd in the 800 and Jasmine Taylor qualified for the 400 finals.
Brunswick: Addisyn Riley qualified for the 100 hurdles final and the 200 dash final. Amari Glasgow qualified for the 400 finals.
A full day of events are scheduled for today.(Saturday)
