Revised Flooding Forecast For The Grand River

Flood levels predicted on the Grand River have changed some since early this morning.

For the Grand River at Chillicothe, the river is above flood stage of 24 feet and continues to rise.  The new crest is forecast at 35.3 feet about 1:00 pm Wednesday, just into the Major flooding range.  At 35 feet, US 65, south of Chillicothe could be closed.  US 36 should not be affected in the new forecast.  Flooding is expected to continue until early Friday morning.

For other areas on the Grand River

At Pattonsburg, the river is rising sooner than forecast, and the National Weather Service predicts the river will rise above flood stage of 25 feet in the overnight hours tonight, and rise to a crest of 29.9 feet Wednesday.  Flooding will continue through Thursday morning.

At Gallatin, Minor flooding is expected as the river is expected to rise above flood stage of 26 feet around midnight and a crest of 30 feet is expected Wednesday afternoon. flooding should continue until Thursday morning.

At Sumner, Moderate flooding will continue into the weekend.  Flood stage at Sumner is 26 feet and at 11:00 am, the river was at 32.3 feet and rising.  A crest of 38.2 feet is expected Thursday morning.

At Brunswick, Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is expected as the river will rise to a crest of 32.5 feet Thursday, with flooding through the weekend.
