Traffic in Chillicothe is returning to normal. Over the weekend, US 36 was opened, both east and west of Chillicothe and all four lanes of traffic are open across the area. By 7:30 this morning, US 65 south of Chillicothe was open and traffic was moving through the area.
Livingston County Sheriff Steve Cox says over the weekend there was a considerable amount of truck traffic into the area that is closed south of Chillicothe. CP Rail was hauling rock and gravel for the railroad repairs just south of the river.
US 65 is OPEN south of Chillicothe. Use caution and watch for road crews working in the area and for other drivers who may not be paying attention or are moving slow through the area.
