The Chillicothe Mudcats evened their record to 1-1 with a 10-9 home opening win over the Clarinda A’s.
The Mudcats second baseman Marcus Gonzalez hit a two-RBI single in the bottom of the 9th for the win. He finished the night with three hits and four RBI.
Clarinda opened the scoring in the top of the 1st with one run. Chillicothe countered with two in the bottom of the second.
Clarinda and the Mudcats battled through the game with the A’s picking up a five run inning and the Mudcats scoring one in the sixth and four in the seventh.
On the Mound for the Mudcats, Christian Cordona had the start with Anthony Rodgers and Jack McNellis in relief
The Mudcats have a rematch with Clarinda tonight on the road, the first pitch at 7:00pm tonight (June 4th).
