Preliminary damage reports from the recent flooding are starting to come in at the Livingston County Courthouse. After the flooding that closed roads and flooded property near rivers and creeks had dropped, the City of Chillicothe and Livingston County requested estimates to file for disaster assistance. Livingston County Presiding Commissioner Ed Douglas says they don’t have solid numbers yet, but they are hearing from some of the townships.
Douglas says they expect the estimates for the county to well exceed the requirements for the State Emergency Management Agency or SEMA.
Douglas urges anyone that has had damage from this latest flood and series of storms, to report those damages as soon as possible.
