It was a hitters paradise Monday night in Joplin with the Outlaws beating the Chillicothe Mudcats 20-10.
Mudcats pitching gave up 18 hits in the game that ended with the MINK League 10-run rule.
Chillicothe put three across in the second inning highlighted by a Branden Settles RBI Triple.
The Outlaws countered with three in the third and five in the fourth. However the Mudcats Marcus Gonzalez cranked a three RBI double in the sixth for an 8-7 score. Blaine Ray circled the bases next with his first home run of the season for a Mudcats 9-8 lead.
The wheels then fell off with Joplin scoring 11 more runs to the Mudcats two.
On the mound Jake Gill lasted three and a third innings in his second start for the Mudcats. Garrett West, Tyler Ingram and Colin Chalmers were in relief for Chillicothe.
The 5-3 Mudcats continue their 3-games series in Joplin Tonight (Wednesday) with a 7:00pm start on KCHI.
