The final tear down of the old Chillicothe Steam Plant has been approved by the City Council. City Administrator Darren Chappel says the bulk of the expense was in the asbestos removal, which is already completed at a cost of more than $1,000,000.
Jim Gillilan with Chillicothe Municipal Utilities hopes the contracts to finish the tear down project will be in place in the next couple of weeks.
After that, he says it’s up to the contractor.
He says some parts will be salvaged during tear down
The final tear down was approved at this week’s city council meeting
