June is “Men’s Health Month” across the nation. Gina Lucas, a University of Missouri Extension Center Nutrition and Health Education Specialist says it’s a month of screenings, health fairs, health education and outreach activities.
She says statistics show men die at a higher rate than women in nine of the top ten causes of death. Men also account for 92% of work place deaths.She explains why.
