The Chillicothe Mudcats beat the Nevada Griffons 8-5 on Wednesday. Chillicothe wasted no time at the plate with Blaine Ray notching an RBI double in the 1st.
The Cats added 4 more hits in the 2nd including RBI singles from Ray, Nolan Metcalf, and Hunter Johnson. Kole Ficken would add a double.
On to the 4th, 6-0 Mudcats and Jack Grace would blast his 5th HR of the season, a 2 run shot. His 2nd in the last 3 games. Blaine Ray would finish 3-5 with 2 RBIs. Hunter Johnson went 2-4 with 2 RBIs.
The Cats got 5 strong innings from Jake Gill. Garrett West and Colin Chalmers would set up the 9th for closer Jack McNellis and he would go on to strike out the side and with that win the Mudcats clinch a playoff birth for 2019.
The Mudcats are now 21-10 and will play the Nevada Griffons in Chillicothe tonight. Patrick Wheeler will have the first pitch for you at 7:05 pm
