Chillicothe Fire Fighters responded twice for fires in the area of LIV 235 and US 36. The natural cover fire was on property owned by Beetsma Farms, south of the highway. The first fire call came in about 10:15 pm Thursday and the fire crew was on the scene for about 30 minutes. They were called back to the area about 1:50 am Friday and were on the scene for about 20 minutes.
Flood rubbish along the levee was burning and the fire crew was called back the second time for what was probably embers that reignited the flood debris.
