The Chillicothe Hornets Varsity team battled back from a tough pool play to finish second in their own 12-team 7 on 7 passing league tournament.
In 7-on-7 summer league, there are no linemen and no rushing plays. It is a touch football league. There is no rushing the quarterback, which has a set number of seconds to throw the football.
In Pool play, Chillicothe’s Varsity team lost to Cameron, Tied Higginsville with the Huskers returned an interception for a score, lost to Boonville and beat Kirksville
In the 12-team tournament Chillicothe beat Carrollton in the first round, beat Boonville in the quarterfinals, beat Richmond in the semi-finals and lost to Lafayette 14-6 in the championship game.
For the Chillicothe #2 team of freshmen and sophomores, the opened pool play with a win over Richmond, lost to Marceline, lost to Gallatin and lost to Lafayette.
In pool play Chillicothe #2 lost to Hamilton in the first round.
