The Chillicothe Police Department had about 120 calls for service over the weekend. Those calls included:
Saturday
12:38 AM, Officer responded to the 500 block of Dickinson for a single-vehicle car accident. Nathaniel A Lewellen, was arrested for driving while intoxicated involving an accident. He was issued municipal citations and released to a sober driver.
11:22 am, Officers responded to the 900 block of Shagbark for a non-injury motor vehicle accident.
6:34 pm, Officers responded to 3rd Street and Washington Street for a non-injury accident.
6:50 pm, Officers responded to the 600 block of Walnut for a possible stealing report. Investigation is to continue in this case.
8:26 pm, Officers responded to the 100 block of Graves Street for a stealing from the business. Offices issued a municipal citation for shoplifting and released the suspect with a municipal court date.
Sunday
06:31 am, Officers responded to the 400 block of Locust for a suspicious person. Officers made contact and found the subject was in need of assistance. Officers were able to help the subject.
11:58 am, Officers responded to the 400 block of Reynard Street for a report of stealing that had occurred. The investigation is to continue in this case.
6:27 pm, Officers responded to the 400 block of Walnut Street for gunshots. Officers found that someone had set off fireworks.
On a humorous note, at about 11:45 pm Sunday, Officers responded to Hedrick Medical Center for a suspicious person in the pavilion in the healing gardens. Officers investigated and found the suspicious person… was a statue of a boy reading a book.
