A High-Speed Accident at US 36 and Mitchell Road left the driver with critical injuries. Luckily two young children in the vehicle were not injured
Officer Turpin, the Chillicothe Police Departments new accident investigator, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol are conducting an accident investigation that indicates speeds of 100 mph. The accident happened at about 8:30 pm on Sunday. The driver of the vehicle was believed to be under the influence of alcohol and not wearing his seatbelt. According to the report, the rollover accident left the driver in critical condition from being thrown from the vehicle.
The driver had to small children in the vehicle and was driving about 100 MPH prior to the accident. Neither child was injured because they were in proper child restraints.
Sergeant Jeremiah Grider says the department has noticed an increase in people operating motor vehicles after drinking alcohol. Grider says that is one of the most dangerous things you can do in a motor vehicle. If you are drinking alcohol, get a ride from a friend or call a cab. He says they want you to Please be safe.
