Summer is officially over for Chillicothe students. Today marks the first day of the School year.
In addition to the normal school supplies and new clothes, there are changes in the district this year. A few new teachers begin their tenure in the district, and the entire district is being led by new Superintendent of Schools Dan Weibers.
He says he’s ready to get the year started.
One thing not new will be the difficulties of busses and parents dropping kids off at school it what can become a gridlock.
Chillicothe Police Officer Matt McCurry says drivers should be alert and cautious around schools anytime they are in session.
McCurry suggests if you are traveling and not dropping off or picking up a student, to take an alternate route to avoid the gridlock times of the start and end of the school day.
