The Chillicothe Police Department responded to just over 100 calls for service Monday, including an unattended death.
8:39 am, Officers advised of items stolen from victim’s vehicle in the 300 block of 10th Street.
10:06 am, Officers took a report of dog left unattended in a vehicle parked in 1000 block of Graves Street. The owner was contacted and advised of violation.
10:07am, Officers responded to a report of drug paraphernalia in the street near East Jackson and Chicago. A syringe was picked up for disposal.
11:13 am, Officers responded to a report of theft of a wallet from a vehicle parked in the lot in the 1000 block of Graves Street.
2:00 pm, Officers began an investigation on possible child abandonment. That investigation continues.
2:36 pm, A suspicious acting person was reported in the 400 block of Cowgill Street. The person was told not return to the property.
3:21 pm, Two possibly intoxicated people were reported in the area of Jackson and Washington. Officers unable to locate the subjects.
5:14 pm, Officers responded to 1600 block of Webster Street to investigate the apparent suicide. The report states a 61 year old man was found deceased inside the home. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
6:08 pm, Officers located the subject of a Silver Alert out of Overland Park Kansas. They had taken a report of a suspicious acting person in a vehicle in the 900 block of Jameson Street. The person was contacted and through a computer check, they discovered the person was the subject of a Silver Alert. They were checked at the hospital and taken to the Police Department until a family member arrived to assist in their return to their home.
8:00 pm, Someone at the ER of Hedrick Medical Center was yelling and screaming. Officers found the person was attempting to get assistance with a drug problem by entering into a detox program.
