The declaration of radios from the Chillicothe Fire Department as surplus was approved by the City Council. The city had anticipated declaring 22 radios surplus. The radios were replaced with new radios that have better ability to communicate across the city. City Administrator Darin Chappell says they would like to use some in other departments.
There is a fire department in another community that is interested in some or all of the remaining radios.
