The Missouri Department of Transportation will receive $20.7 million dollars for the replacement of 40 bridges across north Missouri. Thirteen of the bridges are located in the KCHI listening area. Representative Sam Graves says the federal funds are available through the Competitive Highway Bridge Program (CHBP). The funding will be used for bridges on Missouri’s Fixing Access to Rural Missouri (FARM) Bridge Program.
Graves says securing additional funding for rural roads and bridges has always been a top priority because it is so critical to the communities in his district. He says “I’m thrilled that MODOT’s application was approved and I appreciate the Administration’s continued support for rural Missouri.”
Graves says these bridges are critical to the movement of goods and services in North Missouri. Weight restrictions and lane reductions on farm-to-market roads adversely affect our farm implements, school buses and emergency vehicles. The list of bridges includes 1 in Livingston County, 3 in Chariton County, 2 in Grundy County, 5 in Linn County and 2 in Sullivan County and all are on lettered routes. The full list of the bridges is available HERE.
