The Chillicothe Girls Softball team scored first but Lafayette responded to beat the Lady Hornets 6-4.
Chillicothe scored two in the first and one in the second, but Lafayette responded with two each in the third, fourth and fifth innings. Chillicothe scored one in the seventh but it wasn’t enough.
Chillicothe had two singles each from Abby Jones and Lexi Walker and one each from Jordan Hibner, Mika Hibner, Kennedy Corzette, Kinlei Boley and Kirsten Dunn.
Scoring runs were Sophia Luetticke, Jones, Boley and Kaylee Munson.
Lady Hornets pitcher Hallie Rucker gave up 6 runs off 12 hits and no walks and no strike outs.
The Junior Varsity Lady Hornets shut out Lafayette 10-0, scoring three in the first, third and fourth innings and one in the fifth inning for ten runs off ten hits.
Chillicothe JV pitching allowed just two hits in five innings with six strike outs and one walk.
