The Chillicothe Police Department report for the weekend included several arrests and investigations.
Sunday
At 12:10 am, Officers responded to a report of a shoplifter in the 1000 block of Graves St. they were told the suspect has in possession of a handgun and took off running from the store. Officers later arrested the man who had turned himself in at the Police Department. They learned the gun was not used in the commission of the crime, but the man had a warrant out of DeKalb County for a traffic offense. He was held at the Daviess-DeKalb County Regional Jail.
At 3:20 p.m., Officers took a report of stealing in the 1000 block of Graves St. The investigation is on-going.
At 3:37 pm, Officers responded to a business alarm in the 500 block of Park Ln. It was a false alarm.
At approximately 6:56 p.m., Officers were dispatched to possible drug activity in the 300 block of E. Bridge St. The investigation continues.
At approximately 11:07 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a person failing to pay for services and trespassing at a business in the 300 block of W. Bus. 36 Hwy. The person agreed to leave the business.
Saturday
12:47 am, Officers discovered a large quantity of narcotics on the ground after conducting a pedestrian check in the 1600 block of Bryan Street. The Investigation continues.
2:18 pm, Officers were dispatched for a disturbance in the 900 block of Third Street. Officers arrived but the individuals had left the area. They were able to locate the parties involved in the altercation and a woamn was arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance. The female was held at the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail.
5:06 pm, Report of the theft of fishing equipment from a vehicle while parked in a lot in the 1000 block of Graves Street.
5:17 pm, Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Graves Street for a stealing report. Officers arrested a man for burglary, trespassing, and stealing. The man was held at the Daviess/DeKalb County Regional Jail.
6:36 pm, Officers took a juvenile male into custody for stealing from a business in the 1000 block of Graves Street. The incident was referred to Juvenile Authorities.
