The Missouri Highway Patrol reported a couple of accidents for our local area.
Saturday, at about 12:12 pm in Randolph County, a two-vehicle accident left two people injured. State Troopers report a 16-year-old from Moberly was westbound and crossing Highway 63 at Cairo when he failed to yield to traffic and struck a southbound vehicle driven by 19-year-old James Knight of Trenton. Knight was not injured, but his passenger, 18-year-old Elizabeth Tredway of Trenton and the 16-year-old juvenile had minor injuries and were taken to area hospitals for treatment. The 16-year-old was not wearing a safety belt.
Sunday at about 12:30 am, a single-vehicle accident in Caldwell County left two injured. State Troopers report 40-year-old Shawn Manley of Cameron was eastbound on Route E, near Crocket Road, when he fell asleep, went off the left side of the road and hit the ditch. Manley and his passenger, 40-year-old Johna Asher of Kingston, were taken to Cameron Regional Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Manley was not wearing a safety belt.
