Flooding Continues On The Grand River / Some Roads Remain Closed – Updated

The Grand River remains well above flood stage from Chillicothe to Brunswick.

At Chillicothe, the river crested early this week at 34.32 feet and flood levels continue to steadily fall.  Minor flooding is occurring at Chillicothe, with the river at 26.02 feet this morning and the river is expected to fall back below flood stage of 24 feet around midday.

At Sumner, flood stage is 26 feet.  Moderate flooding is expected to continue until Sunday and the river is forecast to drop below flood stage of 26 feet Sunday evening.  The Grand River at Sumner crested at 36.17 feet Tuesday and was at 34.98 feet this morning.

At Brunswick, Minor flooding continues and the river is near the expected crest of 25.8 feet.  The reading Thursday evening was 25.65 feet and the river should soon begin falling back towards flood stage of 19 feet.  Flooding is expected to continue at Brunswick until early Tuesday morning.

Another highway near Carrollton was added to the Road Closing list by the Missouri Department of Transportation.  The list of roads that remain closed in the KCHI listening includes:

Carroll County:

Highway 10, west of Carrollton

US 65 closed south of Carrollton

Route UU closed from 291 to 220

Chariton County,

Route E from east of Rothville to Route F

Route M closed from the Grand River to Schluter Avenue,

Route J closed south of Agee Avenue
