A new ambulance was delivered to the Chillicothe Fire Department in September. Chief Eric Reeter says the new ambulance is on a four-wheel-drive truck chassis and replaces the Mercedes Box style ambulance. The four-wheel-drive ambulances give the ambulance crews better mobility in poor weather conditions, especially in the rural areas.
Ambulances for the Chillicothe Fire Department are provided by the Livingston County Ambulance Board. Reeter says they have ordered another ambulance for delivery sometime next year. The time for building the ambulance to the city’s specifications is six to 12 months.
