Waterfowl hunters wanting to hunt at Swan Lake National Wildlife Refuge still have time to get their application in for the upcoming seasons. Hunters can participate in the “Lottery,” but they must have a “RecAccess” account to apply and participate. Go to swanlake.recaccess.com. Refuge General Manager Steve Whitson says if you have applied in the past, you just need to sign in.
On October 12th from 9 AM to 5 PM the refuge will host a waterfowl hunting scout day. Hunters will be able to access all of the hunting units and have questions answered at the Refuge Visitor Center by a refuge staff member. Please mark your calendar so you can take advantage of this opportunity.
Whitson says there has been a lot of construction this year, but barring any additional flooding, most of the area is open.
