Chillicothe firefighters responded to a reported vehicle fire on US 36, a mile east of Utica. The call came in at 11:15 am and they arrived 6 minutes later to find the truck owner had removed several items from the truck and reported the front passenger side wheel began jerking and he noticed smoke. The deputies had used two fire extinguishers on the area to put out flames. The firefighters used a water can to continue cooling the area.
The owner of the truck, from Kiowa, KS, made arrangements to have the truck towed. The fire crew returned to service after 20 minutes.
