Chillicothe Fire Fighters were called to a house fire at Roach Lake Wednesday morning. The call came in about 9:30 and the fire crew arrived about 7 minutes later to find the home was fully engulfed in flames. The department took a defensive approach to the fire, keeping it from spreading to neighboring homes. Mutual aid was requested from Dawn, Hale, Wheeling and Chula to provide tankers.
The homeowner told the firefighters he was awakened by smoke in the bedroom.
The home and the vehicles at the home were a total loss and there was some damage to the neighbors home. The owner had a small burn on his arm from melted plastic
The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department and State Fire Marshall were requested to the home. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Fire crews were on the scene for nearly 4 hours.
