In high school football across Missouri Friday night, teams will be fighting for a win and momentum going into next week’s start of Districts.
For the Benton Cardinals team, it is a completely different fight. It will be a fight to search and hope for a little bit of normalcy to return in their lives.
Earlier this week, a Sophomore Benton Cardinal Football player lost his life.
Hornets Coach Tim Rulo says times like this is why he always says his players are more important than the game. Rulo stated that he always tells his players he loves them, and cares about them.
The game will be played Friday night at Jerry Litton Stadium. Benton is 1-7 while the Hornets are 6-2.
For more from the Hornets head coach, listen for the Tim Rulo show tonight at 5:45pm on KCHI. We will also broadcast the game Friday with the pre-game show at 6:30 and kick off at 7:00pm for Senior Night.
