Slick road conditions may have been a factor in three single-vehicle accidents in the area counties Thursday morning.
At about 7:50 in Carroll County, 21-year-old Taylor Kearney of Carrollton had minor injuries in an accident on US 24, near CR 335. The report states Kearney was eastbound and began sliding off the left side of the road and struck a culvert. She was taken to Carroll County Memorial Hospital. She was not wearing a safety belt.
At about 9:10 am in Linn County, 69-year-old Harry Jayne of Kirksville had moderate injuries in the accident that happened on US 36, east of Meadville. Jayne was westbound and lost control on an ice-covered bridge and ran off the right side of the road. He was taken to Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe for treatment. He was wearing a safety belt.
At about 9:30 in Carroll County, 69-year-old Patricia Winfrey of DeWitt had moderate injuries in a rollover accident on US 24 at Water Street. The report states Winfrey was eastbound and ran off the right side of the road and struck an embankment, causing the vehicle to overturn and come to rest on its top. Winfrey was taken to Fitzgibbon Hospital for treatment. She was not wearing a safety belt.
