It seems pretty universal… Parents want their children to succeed! Often parents will even help them with their education, even if it is just to cosign on a loan. The cost of a college education supprises many when they begin looking around. If your child attends a school in Missouri, the AVERAGE tuition per year is $14,826, but if you are from out of state, that jumps to $16,494. Missouri ranks 25th in a survey conducted by Move.org.
So where does your dollar go the farthest for a college education? Wyoming! The average in-state tuition is $3,385, while out of state students will pay more than double – $8,784.
The four states with the lowest average tuition – Wyoming, New Mexico, North Dakota and Montana – have in-state tuition under $8,000 and their out of state tuition ranges from $8,784 to $13,142.
On the other hand, the four most expensive states – Rhode Island, Vermont, Massachusetts and Washington DC – range from $30,879 (RI) to $25,258 (DC) and out of state tuition from $34,360 (VT) to $25,845 (DC).
