A request to have a BBQ Contest in Simpson Park in June was approved by the Chillicothe City Council Tuesday. Reed Dupy presented the request and answered questions about the contest. Dupy says the contest will be Friday and Saturday, June 26th and 27th.
The contest would be sanctioned by the Kansas City BBQ Society or KCBS and they hope to have prize money of $10,000.
Councilman Wayne Cunningham asked if there would be a beer garden.
The council approved the request 5-0.
