The Chillicothe Lady Hornets improve to 2-0 on the season with a 56-49 win over Smithville in the opening night of the Savannah Tournament.
Smithville led by one point after the first quarter and Chillicothe led by one at the half.
The Lady Hornets built a six point lead middle of the third quarter and Coach Darren Smith said that helped build the team’s confidence.
Chillicothe over came a 9-0 start to the game by Smithville. The Lady Hornets were led by Jessica Reeter with 15 points, Hunter Keithley with 13, Jordan Hibner with 11, Lucy Reeter with 9, Essie Hicks with 5, Haley Kidd with 2, Brooke Horton with 1 and playing time for Ella Leamer, Selby Miller, Clara Leamer, Ellie Barnett and Josie Reeter.
Chillicothe girls will play Thursday at 8:30pm against the winner of Tuesday’s William Chrisman vs Savannah game.
