The 2019 Joy Toy Program served 114 families and a total of 492 children. 55 & Go Director Patti Mefford says the week began with a toy room was filled with toys too numerous to be counted. When the doors closed Thursday afternoon, most of them had been given to families who might otherwise have had a disappointing Christmas.
Mefford says a big THANK YOU goes to all those people in our community who gave of their time, money, batteries, bikes, and toys to make this year’s project such a success and the many of 55 & GO Volunteers for working on the project.
She says the 55 & GO Joy Toy Project is really the whole community working together in the true spirit of Christmas.
