The Chillicothe Lady Hornets Basketball team had no answer for Maryville’s Serena Sundell in the Savannah Tournament 3rd place game.
Sundell scored 32 points to lead her team to a convincing 63-37 win over Chillicothe.
Maryville scored the first eight points in the game and never looked back.
Chillicothe Coach Darren Smith said his team struggled with Maryville’s aggressive defense.
Maryville improves to 3-1 and Chillicothe falls to 2-2. The Lady Hornets were led by Hunter Keithley with 8 points, Lucy Reeter with 7, Brooke Horton with 6, Jessica Reeter and Selby Miller each with 5, Essie Hicks with 3 and playing time for Jordan Hibner, Haley Kidd, Ella Leamer, Ellie Barnett, Montana Plattner and Josey Reeter.
Chillicothe girls are off until next Friday when the play at Trenton.
The Chillicothe Boys play this afternoon at 3:00pm for the championship against St Joseph Benton. The game can be heard live on KCHI
