The high school football season wrapped up with State Champions crowned in Classes 1 through 5 Friday and Saturday.
Class 1: St Genevieve Valle beat Lincoln 30 to 27. Lincoln scored with just over a minute left to narrow the score.
Class 2: Lutheran North beat Ava 46-0. Ava was held to 66 yards rushing and no passing yards.
Class 3: Odessa beat Cassville 49-28, leading 21-7 after one and 35-14 at the half. Cassville was led by DJ White, son of former Hornets football star David White. DJ had 7 catches for 82 yards and a touchdown.
Odessa was the team that beat Savannah in the quarterfinals. In a related note, the Savannah Coach has announced he retiring as Savannah’s head football coach.
Class 4: Webb City picked up yet another state title with a 48-0 demolishing of Platte County. Webb City had 412 yards rushing and help Platte County to just 62 yards rushing.
Class 5: Carthage beat Jackson 27-21 in overtime with a 2 yard run.
