Drug Investigation And New New Years Eve Arrests

An in-depth narcotic investigation by the Chillicothe Police Department and Livingston County Sheriff’s Department that began in early 2019 was completed on December 31st with several arrests.  Police Chief Jon Maples says that on the 31st, two search warrants related to this investigation were served.  One search was executed in the 1300 block of Easton Street where a 79-year-old woman and 33-year-old man, both of Chillicothe, were taken into custody based on evidence located within the location. Maples says officers seized approximately 85 grams of alleged methamphetamine, over $2100 in cash, over 600 pieces of narcotics-related paraphernalia used for the sales and distribution of narcotics.

At the same time, another team of officers executed a search warrant in the 400 block of Webster Street where a 55-year-old man, a 48-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman, all of Chillicothe, were taken into custody based on evidence located on their persons and inside at the location.  That included approximately 16 grams of alleged methamphetamine and several pieces of narcotics-related paraphernalia for the sales and distribution of narcotics.

Maples says later that evening, Officers were out enforcing New Year’s Eve traffic when they conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of Washington that led to the arrest of a 39-year-old Chillicothe man. The male is a convicted felon and was found to be in possession of a stolen firearm, methamphetamine, and narcotics paraphernalia.  A 37-year-old female passenger from Cameron was also taken into custody on an outstanding Caldwell County warrant.

The Chillicothe Police Department teamed up with Livingston County Sheriffs Department and successfully executed two search warrants, made seven arrests, seized approximately 101 grams of methamphetamine (street value $4,500), 15 grams of marijuana, recovered a stolen firearm, and a large amount of drug paraphernalia and money related to the sales and distribution of narcotics off the streets on New Years Eve.
