The Chillicothe Hornets boys basketball team beat Marshall 70-53 on the road. The early excitement was when a Marshall Senior broke his school’s all time scoring record in the first quarter. Jace Lance went on to score 36 of his team’s 53 points.
Chillicothe had three players in double figures in a balanced attack. Coach Tim Cool saw several good things from his team, other than scoring.
Wes Brandsgaard finished with 22 points. CJ Pfaff had a double-double with 20 points and ten rebounds. Mason Baxter had 11 points, Hayden Simmer with eight, Bradley Riley with seven, Joseph Tullos with two and playing time for Griff Bonderer, Wyatt Brandsgaard, Cayden Potter and Landon Winder all played but did not score.
The Chillicothe Junior Varsity won 55 to 22. Griff Bonderer had 17 points and Wyatt Brandsgaard with 15 to lead the JV Hornets. Cameron Fleener and Landon Winder had six each, Cayden Potter and Seth Hanson had four each and Kyle Young and Quentin Cramner had two each.
A short handed Chillicothe C-team lost to Cameron basketball 48-16. Chillicothe was led by Clayton Savage with 6 points, Isaiah Spoing with four, Jackson Reeter, Gabe Hanson and Carson Steele each with two points.
