An eagle will be released back into the wild Saturday afternoon in the area. The Missouri Department of Conservation and the MU Raptor Project will release the Bald Eagle at 2:00 pm at Fountain Grove.
The injured bald eagle was brought to the MU Raptor Project on January 4th, by the Linn County Conservation Agent. The eagle was named “Nile” and after a week in the hospital, he was sent to one of our large flight cages to finish his rehabilitation. Nile has made a full recovery and will be banded and released on Saturday. The conservation agent that brought the eagle in for rehab will be on hand.
