The Chillicothe Lady Hornets won a share of the Midland Empire Conference basketball crown with a 53 to 45 home win over Cameron. With the win, Chillicothe will share the title with St Pius X and Maryville at tri-champions.
With a tied score after three quarter, Chillicothe took the lead for good when Essie Hicks hit four free throws and a 2 point shot for a 6-0 run. Then Jessica Reeter, Hunter Keithley and Jordan Hibner continued the free throw parade in the final 2 minutes to secure the win. The Lady Hornets went 11 of 13 in the final quarter for the win.
Hibner was hot from outside, hitting her first five three-point shots and finished with 19 points. Jessica Reeter and Essie Hicks both had nine points, Hunter Keithley had seven, Selby Miller with five, Brook Horton and Haley Kidd each with two points.
Receiving playing time were Josie Reeter, Lucy Reeter and Montana Plattner.
