Chillicothe’s Sheldon Rader brought home a sixth place finish at 106 pounds in the Class 2 State Wrestling Tournament. Rader lost his first match 14-5, won his next three consolation matches by two pins and a 9-2 decision. In the consolation semi-final he lost 4-0 and in the 5th place match he lost to a Cameron with a 50-4 record by a 4-1 decision.
Other Hornet wrestlers failed to medal. Dawson Wheeler went 2 and 2, Isaac Washburn went 1-2 and Christian Peniston went 0 and 2.
Chillicothe finished 28th out of 44 class 2 teams.
Other area team results include for Brookfield 2nd place for Donovan Parn at 132 and 4th place for Jaden Abongo at 126,
Gallatin: 2nd place for Ross Critten at 120 and Drayton Harris at 160, 4th place for Rodell Speery at 152, 5th place for Andon Allen at 113
Marceline had a 2nd place for Cullen Bruner at 170, 5th for Hunter Nelson at 160 and Mason Barnett at 145 and 6th for Ryder Gooch at 126.
Penney of Hamilton had a 4th place medalist in Elijah Harper at 195.
Polo’s Wyatt Segar finished 3rd at 145 pounds and
Trenton had Hunter Mcatee win 3rd at 106, Mark Trump at 182 and Caleb Johnson at 220 both finished 5th.
