Public Hearing Held For Using Capital Improvement Funds

A public hearing to allow spending $100,000 from the City of Chillicothe Capital Improvement Fund was held prior to Monday’s City Council Meeting.  Parks Director Josh Norris says the funds are for the improvement of the playground area at Simpson Park, near Washington Street.

Money from the Capital Improvement Fund would be used to improve the drainage beneath the playground and to make it more accessible to all children.

There was no opposition in the public hearing and no decision was made as the city must wait 10 days after the public hearing.  Comments on the expenditure can be made to City Hall.  A vote on the resolution to allow the use of the funds will be at the first Council session in March.
