A big second quarter allowed the Chillicothe Boys Basketball team to pull away from Trenton to an 82-56 win in the first round game of the District Basketball Tournament.
The Hornets outscored Trenton 28-8 in the second quarter and cruised to the victory after Trenton led by one point briefly in the first quarter.
Coach Tim Cool said it was a nice victory.
Chillicothe was led by Westley Brandsgaard with 21, C. J. Pfaff with 20, Bradley Riley with 13 points, Hayden Simmer and Griff Bonderer each with 8 points, Joseph Tullos with 6, Mason Baxter with 5, Cayden Potter with one and playing time for Landon Winder, Wyatt Brandsgaard and Kyle Young.
Trenton’s lone Senior, Jaren Whitney led the Bulldogs with 25 points in the game.
Chillicothe meets Brookfield Thursday at 5:30 in the semi-final game at Chillicothe High School.
