Voters in the Chillicothe R-II School District are asked to consider a 68 cent levy increase on the April ballot. KCHI recently sat down with Superintendent Dan Wiebers, who talked about the levy request. Wiebers says if approved, the money raised by this increase would go into the operational fund of the district’s budget. He says the increase in funds would allow the district to address several issues.
He says there are other areas of need the district also wants to address.
Wiebers says if the levy is approved by the voters, it would bring in an additional $935,000 per year.
The Superintendent also talked about how Chillicothe’s tax levy ranks with other districts and how an increase would reflect in those rankings. KCHI will bring you that information Thursday afternoon.
