The Missouri Department of Transportation has several projects ready to begin in the area counties.
A resurfacing project on US 36 has been delayed briefly.
The Missouri Department of Transportation contracted with Magruder Paving, LLC to complete the resurfacing of the westbound lanes of US 36 from the Livingston County line to Highway 13 in Hamilton.
The contractor now plans to begin with pavement repairs in the westbound lanes on March 27th. Single-lane closures around the repair sites could remain up around-the-clock. This is a 4 day delay in starting the project.
A bridge rehabilitation project will begin March 23rd for the Missouri River Overflow Bridge on US 24/65 south of Carrollton Lehman Construction, LLC, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, plan to begin work on March 23rd. The work should be complete in the first part of May.
During the bridge project, traffic will be narrowed to one lane and directed over the bridge with traffic signals.
Two other resurfacing projects are scheduled to begin soon. Herzog Contracting Corp. will do the resurfacing of Grundy County Route Z from Route 6 to US 65 and Daviess/Caldwell County Route J from Route 6 to US 36.
The contractor plans to begin paving Route J on March 27th. Flaggers and a pilot car will be used to direct motorists around the lane closure. Work on Route J is expected to take approximately one week to complete. A 10-foot width restriction will be in place for the duration of the project.
Crews will close Route Z to through traffic for paving. That work is expected to begin Friday, April 3 and continue through Tuesday, April 7. The roadway will be closed between county roads. Depending on how work is progressing, the closures could occur Saturday and Sunday as well.
When both paving projects are complete, crews will stripe both routes. All work is expected to be complete by April 9th.
